NW GUILFORD - Earlier this week, Northwest Guilford boys basketball held its first practice since team activities ceased when a "COVID situation" developed following the Vikings' 75-58 win over Southeast Guilford on Jan. 16.
Following the Southeast game, a Northwest player tested positive for COVID and was quarantined. He is now well, is no longer in quarantine and at the time of this writing was seeking a doctor's approval to rejoin the team.
Northwest (3-1) was scheduled to return to competition this Thursday, Feb. 4, at home against High Point Central (0-8) in its first Metro 4A Conference match-up of the COVID-altered season.
The Vikings have eight conference games between now and Feb. 19, when they're scheduled to meet Ragsdale at home in the regular season finale.
