Lady Nighthawks keep rolling

Aliyah Grinage led three Northern Guilford players in double figures as the Nighthawks advanced in the NCHSAA Class 3-A girls basketball playoffs.

Grinage tossed in 27 points as Northern downed Eastern Guilford 67-51 on Feb. 27.

In addition, Amanda Coffer had a double-double with 14 points and 10 blocks. Gabby Boyd added 10 points to the winning effort.

The Nighthawks led 16-8 at the end of the first quarter and steadily continued to stretch their advantage throughout the second round matchup.

Northern will host Eastern Alamance at 7 p.m. on March 1. The Mid-State 3-A teams played three times in the regular season with the Nighthawks taking all three contests.
