Lady Nighthawks keep rolling

A record-setting performance highlighted a week of strong play by the Northern Guilford girls basketball team.

In the Lady Nighthawks' 90-31 win against McMichael, senior Gabby Boyd set a school single game scoring record with 35 points.

"I'm excited for Gabby to set a new school record. She has been playing so well her senior season," said coach Kim Furlough.

In addition to Boyd's big night, Amanda Coffer scored 19 points, while Aliyah Grinage added 12 points and Nya Moore chipped in with 10 more.

In a road clash with Williams, Grinage had a big night in helping Northern overcome a 10-point deficit. She scored 12 of her game-high 24 points in the third quarter to help power the Nighthawks to a 46-40 win.
