The shutout streak is over, but the goal is still in sight.
Northern Guilford overcame an early 7-0 deficit to pound Southern Guilford 49-14 in the third round of the NCHSAA Class 3-AA football playoffs.
Senior tailback T.J. Logan accounted for four touchdowns, including three on the ground, as the Nighthawks rolled.
Logan scored on runs of 33, 45 and 47 yards and also caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Austin Coltrane.
Following a touchdown by the Storm's Malik Moseley, Coltrane hit Tre Purcell for a 35-yard touchdown to knot the contest. Purcell also ran for a touchdown, while Malik Parker scored a late touchdown.
With the win, Northern (13-0) hosts Wilson Hunt on Nov. 23 with a berth in the 3-AA state championship game on the line. Hunt posted a 33-28 win against Cleveland to advance.
