Northwest Guilford's boys and girls cross country teams were victorious on Oct. 3 at Beeson Park.
The Vikings' Matt Bomkamp was first in the boys' race, clocking in at 17:07 while teammate Dalton Lyons was second at 17:29.
Other strong finishers included Derek Linder (17:57),Aadam Haque (17:58), Conner VonSteen (18:26), Jean-Dominique Bonnet (18:35), and Keegan Clary (18:41). The boys scored 24 points, which put them well ahead of second place Southwest Guilford.
On the girls' side, the Lady Vikings took second through eighth en route to 20 total points and a comfortable margin of victory ahead of second place Southwest.
Lexi Lahr was second with a time of 21:10 while Sarah Bomkamp checked in at third at 21:21 with Emma Schultz (21:36) in fourth, Lucy Laird (21:37) in fifth.
Mallory Peterson (21:44), Shelby Newton (21:52) and Catherine Langston (21:57) rounded out Northwest's runners on an impressive evening.
Southwest's Carmen Davis won the race in an impressive 20:01 time.
